Well, most of you know who I am but I might as well do the thing properly.
I'm Matt Dooner, I'm 23, and I've been listening to Monochrome Museuem for almost 3 years. I was delighted with their ethic of artists supporting each other and have kept listening to the show through its trials, tribulations, hiccups and BBC invasions.
I play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and I used to sing as well; I was in Jack's Legacy when I was first introduced to John and Moll at the much-missed Broadway. After brief tenures in a couple of other bands, I'm now trying to hold my main band Crashpoint together; we've just lost our guitarist but we're carrying on without him and seeing what happens for now.
I have a degree in law, so it's not all fun and games... well, actually it is. I abandoned the legal career and started work for Games Workshop in the Merry Hill Centre, the only job I've ever had that I've actually been happy to do. The pay's not great but for now I don't mind, I've passed my probation so I'm there indefinitely; for how long I don't know but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Matt, I find it very interesting that you have a degree in law but are doing something else. I always meet people who have a degree in something but choose to work in a different field. I use to work with a guy at a music store who had an engineering degree in electronics from a prestigious university. Instead of going to work for a big company he chose to work on guitar amps at a small music store in his home town because that's what he loved to do. After years of this he finally did have to move out to California and go to work for a big company but he always said he would rather work at the music store. I was working in electronics when I went back to school and earned a degree in anthroplogy and museum studies. I still work in electronics. As for this thread, I know there are new people to this site who are reading this and might have something to say on the subject of independent music, artists or anything at all. Come on. Let's get some new people in here. !!!!

Anyone remember the Dastards? I've still got footage of one of the 3 gigs I did with them on my myspace page...
That was about a year ago at the Tardebigge in Redditch. I'm on the bass, I was about a month away from leaving the band at that point. I'm almost completely in shadow, funnily enough.
Footage exists of Crashpoint but as part of it concerns me shouting at the sound guys to find out why my amp had cut out, only to find it was my fault because I'd somehow managed to pull the lead out of my pedal, I'd sooner it didn't come to light.
Still, we've got a gig on Monday, so you never know...

Hello there My name is John and I live near a town called Worthing in West Sussex which has more to offer than the pong of seaweed during summer, it was also a town frequented by Oscar Wilde and inspiration behind 'The importance of being Earnest'. The character Earnest, surnamed 'Worthing' after being found on the platform of Worthing Central station in a ...HANDBAG, well it wouldn't have been a rucksack would it?, not camp enough! (Apologies to Jo McCafferty who was a victim reading that terrible joke quite a while ago) My nickname CARPHEAD is from my Myspace page of the same name and is inspired by my interest in carp fishing, though I don't seem to get the time to go fishing much these days. So in my spare time I like to make noise with musical instruments and sometimes these noises are recorded and plonked on Myspace for people's perusal. I am not a professional songwriter/musician, I am a screen printer by trade and have progressed through to management and production control, so quite a boring nit then! I am here on the MM forum after an invite from John Mono when John & Moll were kind enough to play one of my songs on show 113. I met John at the Lamb Inn in Yapton when Jo McCafferty was playing a set there along with David Francis as part of the Ford ECO town protest, it would seem however that when I sent a friend request to The Monochrome museum Myspace page that John thought I was someone else who was there that night, people are often disappointed like that, my wife for instance! Well John, just so you know who I am, I was the chap sitting with Jo in the bar when you had a bit of a rant about the ignorant and noisy punters in the restaurant. Thank you once again John & Moll for playing me on your great show, it was a very big moment for me. Best wishes to all, John.

Hi there John, nice to have you on board. John Mono has Koi Carp, if I remember rightly, so you might want to pay those guys a visit, I don't know.
Leave your fishing rod at home though, after all the trouble they took to build the pond for them!
