Moll & i decided we needed to get a hobby that gets us away from whats going on in our daily life. Some thing totally removed from our normal exhistance. So, we bought a metal detector to go beach combing.. affraid

No ! We aint become anoraks we just needed something to get us out in the fresh air for a few hours, ( together ).

We managed to find a local shop that sells them and the guy was really helpful, he could have tried to sell us something for a grand but advised we buy a C Scope for 220 quid, he even chucked in free batteries and headphones, great service and you get free cups of tea.We will certainly drop in to him again.

After a few practices in the back garden, which Moll found some weird farm implement we decided to go out early Sunday morning, off to Littlehampton beach we went and over a period of a few hours we found around 6 quid and all kinds of weird bits including shrapnel from the Battle Of britain, Ok it aint rock & roll but we needed a change, It was so nice to be free for a few hours, on the beach which we take so much for granted, at the moment we are trying to get permission off a local farmer to scan his land, who knows what we will find, Moll wants to find some Roman Coins, i'd be happy with a 1000 pound german Bomb. Great Innit !! lol!

Love who's left

M & J

Haha, nice one guys!

I noticed when I was sick last week that having something relaxing to do helps a lot. I have many hobbies; my guitars and the models that eventually became my job, but while I was ill with a bad cold I decided to give it all the finger and just watch Die Hard 4. Taking a couple of hours to myself made all the difference.

Because it's not like I can phone in sick from work; there's only 5 of us in the store so there is no plan B; if we're working we're working. I don't usually mind... but it's nice to be able to do something I enjoy on the outside.

Yeah, we all need to get away and relax but I think I took things a bit too far this year. Mrs Trunks and I took up mountain biking, out in the open air, good exercise etc...all was well until I broke my bloody foot jumping off my bike. One fractured 5th metatarsal later and 7 weeks off work, 5 working from home and I’m climbing the walls...so much for keeping fit! lol!

you should see the beach here after the International Fireworks Comp. swarming with peeps and their metal detectors.

I've always wanted one...more for things like finding 100 lb bombs!
