Just wanted to apologize for being absent so much lately. As John has mentioned I opened up my own electronics repair company with one of my daughters. We are now open for business and are trying to nail down warranty authorizations with both Fender and Line 6. I will be contacting Gibson/ Epiphone as well. It looks like the Fender thing will be a reality soon as I have been a gold level Fender tech since about 2000. I am around the corner from a huge retail music store called Guitar Center and we will be the shop they send everyone to for the warranty repairs. Apparently there is a shortage of guitar/ amp repair shops in Detroit. This seems strange to me but it works out well for our new company. I will be getting back to the music a little at a time. I am working on some projects with Mark and hope to do some recording with John and work closely with him and the new studio. The website for the shop is at
www.theelectronicsdoctor.com. The website will be vastly improved over the next few weeks. We will also try to get authorizations for the home electronics (big screen TVs, etc.) but there are many other shops around doing that already and they can't have too many in one area. Since there was a need for the music electronics I am going ahead with that first (and that's what I enjoy the most anyway). We are doing computers, TV, audio, music equipment and more. I have already taken in an industrial computer monitor, an old tube radio, a shortwave radio and a big screen Sony LCD set. I can't tell you what it felt like to have someone hand me that first check for the repair.
