'This town is coming like a ghost town...'

Ado guys, it's been a while. Just thought I'd let y'all know that Crashpoint seems to have ground to a halt because our bass player's left; we're looking for a new one but so far no cigar. But unlike a great many former bandmates, jay wasn't being a **** about it; he explained to us about his job and that he couldn't get time off work anymore, so he did one last gig with us and we bought him a bottle of JD for 2 years.

So yeah, one of the cleaner exits for a bandmate!

So that's why there's been no more updates from me, because there's literally nothing to say!

Hi Matt, sorry to hear your bass less. At least your bass player was upfront about it all so respect for that, i do hope Crash Point continues as the songs i heard held a lot of promise.

I was talking to the Trunkmeister a few weeks ago about things in general music wise, the trunk had this guy chasing him to play in a band Mark finally agreed to see him and guess what ? The guy never turned up after all that.

To be honest Matt i'm glad i dont play live anymore, i do miss it but i dont miss the hassle, recently i have been working via the net putting some drum tracks down for The Trunkmeister and i'm really enjoying it, no pressure, no deadlines, and i get to play on some brilliant songs.

Keep the faith Matt, just keep on

Well, I was going to save the tales of what's happened since then for when my glass was half empty, and I've just found a parking ticket on my car thank you very much Dudley MBC, so now that you mention it:

We had 3 bass players who apparently wanted to try out. 2 of the 3 never got as far as answering their phones. The 3rd guy emailed us a couple of days before the practice saying he was moving to Nottingham. Then I got in touch with this girl who was looking for a band, we were going to try her out today, she literally rang me yesterday saying she didn't want to do it because of the distance involved, (to be fair it was across the city,) and having heard our stuff wasn't really in to it anyway. I didn't press the matter; being the only member of the band with a car plus having a bass player who wasn't really in to it would cause more problems than it would solve.

At this point, and this is purely what I'm thinking, not the band, I'm seriously considering buggering it all to hell and recording a new demo without a bass player; that's pretty much what we did last time and it worked even if we did make very hard work of it. As for the live shows, well, we're not really all that good live anyway, basically because all we do is stand there and play our songs. We've got nothing on the JL live show! So we could confine ourselves to a recording studio and be making near enough the same impact we're making now. We could work to improve our live performance but to be fair we won't be playing live until we get a bass player anyway so we've got a long way to go before we do that.

Incidentally we do get offered quite a few gigs with the promoters we're in contact with, but I think that's more to do with the fact that we almost never cancel so they can rely on us to turn up and play. There's something to be said for keeping your word, I'm sure you'll agree!

We could of course break down into a 3-piece; I could play bass and Emma could do all the guitar stuff, but we wouldn't be the same band. The change would be so radically different that we'd have to throw away near enough everything we've done up until now, and for the type of music we'd then end up playing, I would lose interest very quickly.

But after all that, it's nice to know you guys are still behind me; I'm not quite ready to give it up just yet...
